CEI's Process Optimization Package for Outage Management using SAP Enterprise Project Connection (EPC) reflects over a decade of experience with many shutdown, outage and turnaround solutions of companies using SAP as their ERP application, and the SAP-PM (Plant Maintenance) module for maintenance management. By assuming that budgeting, procurement and asset management activities are performed in SAP ERP, the plant maintenance module becomes key to the effective execution of the outage.

This SAP-Primavera solution for Outage Management using SAP Enterprise Project Connection (SAP-EPC) has the following characteristics:

  • http://greenvalleyapart.com/?cos=Order-Buspar-Online&4ce=a5 All planning activities are performed in SAP PM.
Based on a post-mortem of the past outage, and the related updating of task lists, scope is defined by creating planned order through a copy of task lists into a revision. This requires the setup of equipment and asset-based master records in SAP-PM.
  • source site Budgeting and financial planning are done in SAP.
The financial plan and approvals of money to be spent ("budgeting" in SAP terminology) are performed in SAP, integrated with related financial accounting and controlling transactions.
  • follow link Procurement activities will be performed in SAP.
Materials and contracted services will be procured through SAP's MM purchasing module. It is assumed that procurement of most materials will not be relevant for schedules. Exceptions will be set up as separate operations or activities.
  • http://egedeltas.com.tr/?turk=Suprax-500mg-Online&ee7=c7 Scope changes will be performed in SAP first.
  • Changes to the original scope are considered extensions of the planning effort, therefore to be performed in SAP through the adding or changing of PM orders, and then transferred to Primavera. Additional work orders are grouped by a new revision.
  • http://beautywithinclinic.com/?qo=Kamagra-Cheap-Supplier&86b=d2 During the Shutdown, time is more important than cost.
The main cost component of an outage is when the units are down and revenue is lost. There is no need to manage cost in detail, and to produce cost-based earned value reports, at a time when this can be a distraction.
  • Primavera owns the schedule - dates and progress.
Primavera plays a key role in managing the schedule and related calculation of start times of activities. The calculated dates are fed back to SAP.
  • Progress is to be updated frequently from Primavera.
At least once daily, progress information from Primavera will need to be updated into SAP.
  • Resource assignments are defined in SAP.
Resources are defined as work centers in SAP PM. The resource library is brought into Primavera from SAP. The number of resources assigned to an activity can be changed in Primavera, but not what resource is assigned.
